192168285.xyz is a small web and file server that I designed together with Paul Bille. It was intended yo replace centralized cloud services like Dropbox or Google Drive in our workflows and, since Paul lives in the US, to maintain our friendship and our collaboration across the ocean.
The case is produced from folded sheet metal. Engraved on it is the server's encrypted origin story, inspired by seafaring metaphors that we encountered in internet-adjacent lingo, such as surfing the web, Piracy, streaming, etc.
Today this server also hosts a variety of other services, like this website, the Correspondence's Nextcloud instance, or Mokum Kraakt's Student Intifada Archive.
