(Silver Surfer

Silver Surfer was a web and file server that I initially built for Salwa Foundation with help by Ada Reinthal. Salwa helped non-Dutch artists find a footing in the Dutch art world. This server will let them host their entire digital infrastructure themselves, from file sharing to a collaborative office suite to video calling and calendar applications.

Engraved in the case is a manual for how to plant a tree, a metaphor that Salwa employs to describe their relationship to the artists they support, and how to build a tree house, maybe the first temporary autonomous zone many of us get into contact with. Inside of the case is a 3D-printed miniature (file) tree with a tree-house like home directory in its branches.
